Sidney V. Stratton collection, 1891-1914.

Scrapbook collection of Sidney V. Stratton of Natchez, Miss., the son of Joseph Buck Stratton, who served as pastor of the First Presbyterian Church in Natchez. The materials pasted into the volumes consist largely of newspaper and magazine articles and pictures. Volumes contain genealogical information about the Stratton family, including a genealogical chart; pictorial examples of German, French, Italian, and American church architecture; house plans and pictures and prints of 1890s domestic architecture and interior design in the United States; miscellaneous articles from various newspapers, among them the New Orleans Daily Picayune and the New York Sun, concerning current events and the race question; and various articles and pictures pertaining to the history and architecture of Natchez, Miss. A typed letter from William R. Meade to Stratton, dated 1909, is also included.
